Remus sat in bed; his knees bent a quill and parchment in hand. He wrote a line and scratched it out, repeating the process again and again.
"Try 'live everyday to its fullest' and then be done with it."
"A soppy sentiment for you, Severus."
"I blame it on living with a Gryffindor and lack of sleep." Severus said pointedly.
"Sleep deprivation could be a problem." Remus replied as he put aside his parchment and quill. With a soft "Nox" he settled in behind Severus. "Happy New Year, love." Remus whispered.
"It just might be." Was the low, gruff response.
