Akane looked up at her mommy and for a split second she almost tried the sad puppy face. But she knew it wouldn't work and her mommy knew it wouldn't work. She she shook her head. "No.. my mommy is very much im.. immune to that. And I do not think it is a good idea to try because that is trying to get out of something that you did. That is not right because you have take um, responsibility for what you did." Her head tilted to the side. "Even the little things!"
Her mother chuckled. "That. That right there is exactly why she will never be like me." She leaned over, the Mom Look long gone and kissed the top of Akane's head. Not more than a second later, her phone rang. She reached into her pocket to answer it, silently excusing herself and stepped out of earshot, but still within sight, of Akane and her apparent new friend.
This left a little girl sitting across from a grown man and staring at him with a silly smile. "May I ask what you do, sir? Because I am still small and need to know what others do so I can decide what I want to do when I am grown up."
