When he assumed a martial arts pose Clark held up his hands defensively. No violence was allowed here, so he knew he'd be safe no matter what, but had to keep up the show.
He put his hands down. "I see," Clark told the man as he adjusted his trenchcoat. "Sorry your gardener is disgruntled. Never really had that problem where I'm from. My dad had a farm, when we had extra farm hands, he'd treat them like family. One even tried to teach me guitar, but I kept breaking the strings."
