"Okay, let me tell you what the sword is capable of..." Susan began.
"Susan? Allow me." The sword itself said. "I need to bond with my owner."
Susan frowned but her friend had a point. Hilary and her were probably going to be together for a lifetime so they might as well get to know each other now. Transforming to her imp form, Susan landed on the bar next to the puppet. "So I think I heard Hilary say your name was Blade?"
While Susan and Blade got to know one another, well as much as a silent puppet and a talkative imp could, Hilary and her sword talked.
"Mistress, first may I say that I have no problems with Desdemona and indeed love my new name you have given me.
My powers are varied and I will explain them more as you gain training on how to wield me. But for now I will tell you of my greatest ability. It is the ability to totally absorb all light in an area plunging your enemies into complete darkness but as long as you hold me, you shall see perfectly fine as if everything was light. This of course also means that as long as I am in your grasp you can see in normal darkness as well.
I can also, for a time, put a barrier up that will protect you from nearly any physical or energy attack.
Oh! And of course, I am very sharp and can cut through nearly any material. But higher ranking demon's hide will still repel my edge so don't go out and pick any fights with any high level demons!"
The sword seemed to hum for a moment as it thought.
"Oh and you probably noticed that I have no scabbard like a normal sword? That's because I can shrink or grow as needed. At the moment I'm at my longest length but I can sheathe my own edge making me blunt as a cane or normal stick and shrink so you can hang me from a chain around your neck or put me in a pocket without fear of cutting yourself.
