The Doctor remained silent as she spoke and continued putting together yet another drink for her. It wasn't until she actually said he had no idea what she'd gone through. His expression darkened and he stopped his work. He placed the palms of his hands onto the counter top and leaned forward to look her in the eyes. "Oh, I think I understand you far better than you think." Everything he wasn't saying was there for her to see. If she was smart, and he thought she was and he was a rather good judge of these things, she'd see it.
And just as quickly as it was there, it slid away and he dropped a small cube into the newest drink, causing it to sizzle and turn a perfectly crystal clear. "With what I put in there, hot sauce would just add a hallucinogen effect that would last, oh, about a week. Can't have that. You'd be wandering around here trying to fight the chairs because they looked at you funny. Nice chairs too, don't want to ruin them."
The Doctor gave her a secret smile as she looked at his umbrella drink. "That.. oh.. you really don't want to know. But it'll help." He flashed her that overly bouncy grin of his. "Trust me." Then he placed the clear drink next her. "After that, drink this one and we'll be done for the day."
