Harley made a thoughtful look. "Well at first I thought it was odd that Mr. J. would have vitamins on him all the time but he insisted it was because he couldn't risk catching a cold or anything like that cause he obviously couldn't go to a doctor. Later I might have been suspicious but by that time the Joker was beating me and leaving in dark closets so much that I would agree to anything to stay on his good side. And hoo-boy let me tell you, the Joker doesn't have much of a good side at all. He would fly into rage at the tiniest things. Like not laughing at his jokes.
Harley shivered in memory of her mistakes in that department and the subsequent lessons.
"I met Red, Er I mean Ivy a year and half after I met Puddin." Harley replied to the Doctor's next question scowling. "I mean The Joker. I was going to celebrate our 18th month anniversary and me and Mr. J. had an argument and he threw me out. That was when I met Ivy and she gave me the first transfusion of her blood. She was staying at a condemned housing track built over a toxic waste dump and I had to have the infusion to survive the toxic fumes.
"And it is easy for you to say be the bigger person. You don't know what it's like to live in fear of the sound of laughter and always looking over your shoulder fearing to see a grinning face framed by green hair. Do you have any idea what it is like to have a mad man chasing you?"
Harley examined the first drink the Doctor made but then with a shrug she swallowed it down like a sailor on shore leave. "Could have used hot sauce." She muttered as she very unladylike whipped her mouth with her hand.
She eyed the umbrella in the drink and looked at the Doctor with a raised eyebrow before pulling the tiny umbrella out of the drink and placing it on the bar. She took a sniff of this drink and her eyes started watering. "What's in this stuff anyway?"
