A chuckle comes from his throat quietly before answering, "Guess that means you're off the hook then."
Shifting in his seat he spoke in almost a mutter, "A big softy who carries a big stick." Although he wasn't much for speaking softly. Maybe that meant Cloud had nothing to worry about.
His azure gaze moved toward Tifa in minor amazement. On one hand it was surprising. On another... not so much, "Isn't she too young for that?"
He sounded genuinely concerned. He could understand the desire to take care of someone you loved. And Marlene and Barette loved on a level he could hardly understand yet. Even still, he was concerned at the thought of allowing Marlene to grow up too quick. She already took on emotional responsibilities that never should have been laid on the shoulders of a child her age.
