Let's have a party!
Who: Raijin, his daughter Maya and his ex Jilly (NPCs), and anyone invited to Maya's party!
Where: Jilly's house, Balamb Town
When: Saturday, November 22, 1pm and onward
What: Maya's fifth birthday!
Warnings: tbd, probably none
All Raijin had heard about all week was how awesome this party coming up was. He couldn't blame Maya for being excited, because it wasn't like you turned five every day after all, and his parents had never been able to to do this for him when he was growing up. So yes, a party was required, even while he let Jilly handle all the details. She was the one with a bigger backyard and plenty of space to hold everyone, so her place it was.
Raijin got there early to help Jilly set up, and also to bring all of Maya's things with him, as she'd be staying with her mother for the next week. Though Jilly and Raijin themselves weren't meant to be together, they were doing a pretty good job at this co-parenting thing. At least, in his opinion, since Maya seemed happy and well adjusted and neither of them wanted to kill the other on a weekly basis. Maya ran around the backyard, helping Jilly decorate with streamers and balloons, while Raijin got the food ready. Burgers, pizza, and yes, hot dogs too, along with chips and other snacks.
Off to the side, there was a stack of presents, including a large box that looked clumsily wrapped, topped with a huge bow. True to his word, Raijin had not gotten Maya a minibike, but a regular one instead. He was still keeping an eye out in case he could find one for cheap and fix it up for her later, though - not that he told Jilly that. And perhaps the most interesting of them all was the bouncy castle in the backyard. Right now Maya and her friends were having a grand time jumping around in there, but Raijin himself was planning on hitting that up before the day was through. For reasons.
By the time the party started, Raijin was relaxing with a beer in hand, looking out over the backyard, grateful again for Maya and that they were able to do this for her. She deserved it.
