This is Brendan Ikeda. He's a Seattle Police Officer. He's a grumpy type. You know, the kind who always seems to be thinking, "Oh great... what now?" He's highly sarcastic and a hard ass. Yeah, he will pull you over if you are 5 miles over the speed limit. He takes his job and himself very seriously. When he's not on duty, he tends to keep people at arms length. No people are allowed in his personal bubble. He's also kind of jumpy and easily miffed. He's like a lovable grumpy grandpa who is just 21. Uh... he dreams of being a detective one day and loves puzzles and the like. He also plays WoW on his off time. And he lives with his mom and younger siblings. His dad was killed in the line of duty which contributes at least in part to his jerk with a heart of gold persona but he always was kinda like that. He's super protective of his family and his family take advantage of that. His mom calls him when he's on duty to ask him to pick up milk on his way home. Oh yeah, he loves donuts and coffee. [02 Feb 2011|04:31pm] ☾ awakening & activity check We thought we should get a head start on the awakening business just in case you all had questions or needed some extra time to compile your entries and logs for counting. A random number generator has selected Sailor Mars as the first one to awaken, so here's how things are going to go down: Anyone who has Sailor Mars listed as one of their four choices on their application should comment to this entry with the following: Any logs your character has participated in since the start of the game. Logs will only be counted if they have gone for three rounds or more and are posted in the community (even if incomplete), though they must be active or finished at the time of the awakening to be counted. Abandoned logs will not be counted unless they have gone for seven rounds or more, or are substantial. Any entries your character has made since opening. Up to two journal entries a week will be counted - beyond that, points will not be awarded. A quarter of a point will be added per week for general activity (commenting), and a quarter of a point will be deducted per week for failing to be active at all. No points will be awarded for low character activity. The mods will compile your base score from your posted logs and entries, as well as your general activity. Then, we will roll a die for each character and add the die roll to your base score - the character who has the highest total score will be awakened as Sailor Mars. An activity check will also be conducted at this time. Any characters who are not on hiatus* and show low signs of life (not participating in logs, not commenting, not making entries) will be nudged. If their activity does not increase within a week, they will be emailed, and we'll go from there. *If you are on hiatus and have been nudged, it's because your character has either not been active at all since the start of the game and we want to remind you of that, or because we accidentally nudged you, in which case, feel free to disregard. Our bad. The awakening will take place this Friday. Lawrence and Smitty and their little...pets will be serving as the catalyst. Luna and/or Artemis are highly encouraged to also be involved - if not, we'll have to get a little creative. We're assuming the awakening log will be set up by either Kate or Kenzie, so email us if you have questions! Further instructions will be given to the awakening Senshi prior to Friday. Remember, even if you put Sailor Mars down for one of your choices and don't get her, you still have three other chances for your character to awaken as a Senshi.
