Okay guys this is a fairly long chapter but hopefully it will answer some questions. Please let me know what you think.

Luke walks out of the trailer and is surprised to see Reg is standing right outside the door.
“Eavesdropping Reg?” Luke asks skeptically.
“No. I was waiting to escort you and Mr. Mayer back to the set. That’s usually when I get him caught up on his messages and meeting schedule.”
“Good to know.” Luke says.
They both shift uncomfortably as they wait for Noah to finish his phone call. Reg thinks to himself that Luke still looks really good. The two years they were together was the best time of Reg’s life and he has wanted Luke back ever since. Imagine his surprise when Luke shows up last month asking to see his boss. Prior to that moment it had never even occurred to him that the “Noah” Luke had been pinning over the whole time they were together, the “Noah” that eventually lead to their break-up, was the same “Noah” that had employed him for the last six months. He didn’t even know Noah was gay. It had never crossed his mind because Noah was married with a kid. Reg must have been deep in thought because he didn’t realize Luke was staring at him.
“What are you thinking about?” Luke asks inquisitively.
“That you and I were good together and I don’t know what you’re doing wasting your time with him.”
“You know Reg, it’s really none of your business.”
“I still really care about you Luke and I don’t like to see you hurting.”
“It hurts more when I’m not with him.”
“He’s never gonna leave his family for you.”
“I’m not going to ask him to.”
“So you’re fine being his dirty little secret?”
“Of course I’m not fine Reg. I hate that I can’t go to sleep with him at night! Or wake up with him in the morning! I hate that he has a child and life with her and not me! Of course I’m not fine. But I have Noah in my life now and I am sure as hell not gonna push him out of it again. I already made that mistake once.”
Luke sits down on the trailer doorstep and thinks about his and Noah’s relationship and their painful breakup. Luke went into college thinking he would never find love. But as fate would have it he ended up sharing a dorm with insanely gorgeous Noah Mayer. Insanely gorgeous and totally straight, or so he thought.
All throughout freshman year there were glances and touches and Luke just knew there was something more to it. They quickly became best friends and did everything together. When Luke finally came out to him, Noah had been so surprised, but also very curious. He kept asking questions about how Luke knew he was gay and what his family thought. But he never made a move. Then one day Luke just took a chance.
They were sitting on the floor of their dorm, cramming for finals and Luke looked into those deep blue eyes. He dove in head first and kissed him. The kiss was timid and uncertain. They both pulled back unsure of what to do next. Then Luke asked Noah a silent question with his eyes; Noah answered with his lips. That was the beginning of their relationship, but Luke was sure he had loved Noah from the moment he had laid eyes on him. And he knew now that he had been in love with him ever since.
When graduation was approaching Luke and Noah made so many plans for the future. They wanted to get a place together away from campus, maybe in the city. It didn’t matter where as long as they were together. Then disaster struck.
Noah’s dad decided to come to his graduation. He had barely spoken to Noah the four years they were at school, but insisted on coming to see him receive his diploma. Luke didn’t know much about Noah’s father, just that they weren’t close. He was unhappy with Noah for choosing to go to college instead of joining the military. He never really called, only wrote sometimes. Noah didn’t visit him once during the holidays, he would always go home with Luke. It was understandable that Noah was nervous about his dad all of a sudden taking an interest in his life. But when Noah told Luke that he hadn’t come out to his father and didn’t plan to do it on this visit, Luke couldn’t understand that. Noah claimed his father wouldn’t approve. He said the Colonel wouldn’t be as accepting as Luke’s family and it would ruin his graduation. He said he wanted his father to see him graduate and be proud of him for once in his life. Luke told Noah he wouldn’t pretend to just be a roommate and he wasn’t going to help Noah lie to his father. He left their place for the week that Noah’s dad was going to be in town. Luke said that he couldn’t hide his feelings for Noah and it would be best for everyone if he wasn’t around while the Colonel was there. When Luke left he had every intention of moving back in, but things change.
They agreed not to speak while the Colonel was in town. Luke missed Noah so much; that week seemed like an eternity. It was so hard for Luke; he was lonely and angry and hurt. The night of graduation he went out with his friends; he drank too much, considering he shouldn’t have been drinking at all. Somehow he and ended up in bed with someone else. He felt horribly guilty and full of regret immediately after it happened. But in the days that followed he convinced himself that it was for the best. That he needed someone who was out to his friends and family. Someone who wouldn’t ask Luke to hide his true feelings just to get approval from a close minded bigot.
He came to Noah in tears the day they finally saw each other again. Luke confessed that he had cheated and waited for Noah to process the information. Obviously Noah was shocked and hurt. Luke felt horrible for causing him pain, but he didn’t ask him forgiveness or beg Noah to take him back. Luke broke up with him. Noah was devastated, completely heartbroken. He cried and told Luke that he wasn’t strong enough to stand up to his father and he couldn’t live without Luke in his life. He assured Luke that they could work past the betrayal because they loved each other and that was all that mattered. But instead of taking Noah in his arms and holding him close; Luke walked away. A week later, when he realized what a terrible mistake he made it was too late. Noah was gone, nowhere to be found. So Luke tried to move on and tried to forget. For two years he slept in the same bed he stumbled into accidentally. He tried to make a life with the man who opened his eyes to how it could be. And he did it. He lived out and proud. There was no hiding or lying. But there was also no Noah. Then one day Luke realized that Noah was the only thing that really mattered.
“Does he know it was me?” Reg inquired, pulling Luke out of his thoughts.
“No. He didn’t even know you back then. I just told him that I cheated and I was leaving. I thought that was enough information.”
“Are you going to tell him?”
“It’s irrelevant. It’s ancient history.”
“I swear I didn’t know he was your Noah until you showed up last month. I figured he stayed in Oakdale when we moved to Chicago.”
“He disappeared the week I broke up with him. I had no idea where he went or what he was doing for all these years. Then I find out about this film he’s making through the ‘Oakdale U Alumni Newsletter.’ It seemed like fate. We had been living in the same city for the past year. So I came to him hoping for a second chance.”
“And you find him with an entirely new life.”
“Yes. But he still loves me and I love him. This time I’m taking him anyway I can get him.”
“Do you really think that’s enough? It might be for now, but soon you’ll want more.”
“Fuck you, Reg. I won’t do it again. I won’t leave him for you.”
“The reason you left him in the first place is because you were sick of the hiding and the lying. Now you’re doing it all over again. But I won’t do it. I’m not going to lie for him anymore.”
Noah starts to open the door of the trailer and Luke gets up from the step to let him walk out. Noah looks back and forth between the two guys. He can tell they were having an intense conversation but he has other things on his mind so he lets it go.
“So,” Noah says with a heavy sigh “change of plans for dinner.”
“What do you mean? Your not cancelling on me are you?” Luke asks disappointed.
“No. Just a minor change. How would you like to met my family?”
“You’re kidding, right?”
