The moment before the kiss is the thing. The anticipation, the heat, as our noses meet and slide against each other before resting upon a rounded cheek. The inhalation of warm skin, heady in its intimacy, makes deep breathing an addiction, trying to memorize the scent of joy as fire races along our veins. Our lips tingle in preparation, knowing it is only moments before the world will end and only we will exist. Rational thought is not possible as there is only one thought, childlike in its simplicity, beautifully complicated in its enormity.
God, do I love this man.
