Bond of Honor by meri
The basic concept for this story -- that Haldir survived the battle at Helm's Deep and was healed by a bond with Éomer -- came from Morgana's story: A Mortal Love, which you can find here: [ http://www.vitreoushumour.com/~morgana/stories.html ]. Beyond that, the two stories bear little resemblance. Very kindly, Morgana has given her 'permission and blessing' for me to use the concept.

Elrond/Glorfindel, Glorfindel/Ecthelion, Erestor/Ecthelion.
Námo allowed Ecthelion to be reborn and the Captain of the Fountain has finally returned to Arda. After being raised in the Golden Wood, Mithrandir appoints Erestor to be Ecthelion's guardian/teacher. Erestor reluctantly accepts and finds his heart captured by a dark-haired, gray-eyed youngster.
