Safe was a good way of explaining it for her. The less he knew the better it was, especially with him being a first response to the scene. Still, it was a happy accident in her mind. After all, she would not have been so bold as to walk over to him and speak otherwise in this moment. No, Lana did not believe in meeting people at bars for a hopeful good time. Her mother made her many things (all ranges of angry mostly), but the only good one was cautious. She did not trust someone she met in a bar as far as she could throw them. However, the thought of him feeling the same toward another member of his family would have not been so much a surprise as it would have been something for her to ponder on. Lana never assumed that everyone became secluded and withdrawn as her brother had- at least not to the same degree as they were- but she also knew not everyone had a storybook ending to their life. It was a harsh reality that kept her from sinking into the 'pity me' mindset. Others suffered, too, she was just a survivor of it.
The fact that he found her beautiful would have been a surprise, however. She knew she wasn't ugly when she had the chance to get put together in the morning, but Lana would not go as far to say she was overly attractive. Him, on the other hand... she was not complaining about finally getting a good look at him. No, she had liked the messy look with the blackened face from ash and his hair all standing out in weird angles from his helmet. it was a good look on him, but the fact that he was ever so charming like this made it better. It aided the fake-aggression she was putting forth with him. No, she liked to get her way with things and even if it was a number to a man who would never return her number, it was something to cancel out her otherwise boring life. She did a good job hiding things from showing, for sure. His laugh made her smile crack the partial indifference finally. She looked over just in time to see the big guy throw up the middle finger at Hayes and she finally cracked into a full smile. "I think you hurt his feelings," she commented with a playful wave at him. When he told her she would only get his name if she won, Lana have a playful huff and crossed her arms. "Alright then, get to shooting, fireman. I hate being at a disadvantage." She replied with heavy snark before taking a sip of her drink and eyeing him as he set up the next shot.
