She hit his chest with full force, and his arms snapped around her waist. He held her tight, taking several steps backwad in order to keep his balance. He didn't think falling to the ground was ideal, not when he just wanted to hold Tris in his arms and never let her go.
Tobias didn't care for public displays of affection. He'd mostly regulated himself to giving her a sideways look, when he thought no one was looking. He occasionally touched her hand, maybe, but he would never have kissed her outright in front of everyone else. Out here, in this strange place he ought to be even more guarded because he didn't know where he was or why or how or who was behind it all, but he didn't care who was watching. He kissed her hard, and his hands tangled in her hair, fingers rubbing at her scalp.
