On the Run (Emma/Inque)
This was not, perhaps, the best day in Emma's life. Any ONE of the things would have been enough to put it in the bottom ten, but all of them combined?
Okay, Bruce Banner wasn't completely awful - not even really awful at all except for the vague hints he was a person of mass destruction when he got cranky.
Emma was just self-aware enough to realize that was a bad combination with a telepathic teenager.
So, that was so-so.
JEAN FREAKIN' GREY.
'nuff said there.
Emma shivered a little at the memories.
And now this.
Oh, yeah. Strange alien hexapods chasing her. That was a thing.
Worse, the stupid things were too stupid for Emma to break their brains. Too stupid and too alien.
So she ran, trying hard to steer herself back towards the camp and Jane Bond. The alien pack was heading her off, though, and steering her away from it.
(Later, Emma would remember she could have tele-shouted for help and feel really stupid. For now, though, she ran like the final girl in a horror movie.)
