Eleni paused at the offer, thinking it over. Who didn't have a cell phone these days? Then again, Max seemed like he at least thought he was out of another era. It was kind of endearing, really.
She could be walking into a trap. But then he could have just as easily left her to the muggers and cleaned up after. And she knew that she could take care of herself. She was also a pretty good judge of character and despite the fact that he'd been skeptical of her, her gut was telling her to trust this guy.
It had very little do with the fact that she thought he was easy on the eyes. Really.
"I can walk," she said, by way of agreement.
It wasn't bad out tonight and she didn't mind getting the chance to get the lay of the land.
"So, Mr. Fielding," she began, using the more formal salutation since that was how he addressed her, "What sorts of cases do you work on when you're not following lost girls around town?"
