Of course Felicity had told Roy that she needed him. Laurel allowed herself a small, slightly sad, smile. Felicity had become a friend to her and she had a way of knowing what other people needed even before they realized it themselves.
One of her hands reached up to cover the hand on her shoulder. She took a deep breath, taking a moment to draw comfort from having him near. She didn't lean back just yet.
"Some guy tried to mug us. Threatened us with a gun. And I opened my mouth and this... scream came out. It sounded like something from one of Sara's canary bombs, but stronger. It knocked him out. Maybe even killed him." Her voice shook a little bit. Criminal or not, that didn't mean that the man deserved to die. And it didn't mean that she wanted a power that could be deadly.
"I should have stuck around to see, but Felicity told me to go. And I didn't want to hurt anyone else. I don't know how to control it." She felt another surge of guilt at running and leaving Felicity to clean up the mess. She was supposed to clean up her own messes, not have someone else do the dirty work. But how... how could she make something like this right?
