Despite the wee hour and the exhaustion creeping up slowly on her, Lois moved with grace. Each step was light and taken with care as if she intended not to make a sound to which anyone could be awoken. She had no intention to disturb anyone and yet...and yet she almost wanted to. She almost let the urge take her to cause a ruckus just so that there was something...
She didn't like being all by herself in her room. It seemed too easy being tucked neatly away in a strange bed, and though the sandwich had been somewhat of a comfort the thing that put her most at ease was Clark. Oddly enough.
As they paused at the doorway to her room, Lois tilted her head upward to respond to Clark's words. She bit down at her tongue to stop her over-worked and exhausted brain from saying what had been just there...You wanna come in for a minute?
No, that seemed too forward. Too forward. So Lois smiled instead and nodded, "You're welcome, Clark. You too." She doubted he would and she knew that any sleep she did get would be restless and unsettled. Lois pulled from him, unwinding her arm slowly, before she turned to the door and let herself in. A last glance at the man standing there through the crack in the door and then she closed it tightly behind herself. With a quick flick of her wrist it was locked and she stared hard at it. And sighed.
