Johnny listened, drinking. Mary had been on a good many adventures without him. He was sorry about that, and he didn't think that he would ever be able to get her to know how much. Not that it had been his choice. He would have never willingly left her on her own. The fact that the aliens would experiment in that particular manner bothered him. Why would they do it? To see if she could survive? Why so soon after she'd just had a traumatic experience in which she had proved she could?
Or had it been something to do with him? Had they wanted to experiment with his healing? His ability to die? Had they killed him more to see what he could survive? Johnny was unnerved all of a sudden.
"Aw man! The wild west in space? I would have killed it there!" He made a face. His whole persona was, after all, that of an outlaw cowboy. That was disappointing. If the aliens ever decided to revisit planets, he wanted to go back to that one.
Johnny didn't really have questions about the planets themselves, he figured he'd hear details in any stories that people would tell him. But he did have others.
