"Good question," Sam said, recognizing the rhetorical nature, but questions were the start to coming up with any sort of working theory. Right now... he was out of his league, but that didn't stop him from wanting to rise to the challenge.
"I think you're right that they don't want to outright hurt us. Though it doesn't seem to have stopped them from putting us in the path of danger."
He gestured vaguely toward the door, beyond which there would be a wall that seemed entirely too flimsy compared to the dinosaurs it was meant to keep out.
"Have you figured out anything else about our 'hosts?'" Sam asked, assuming that the Doctor would have shared if he had. But all the same, it couldn't hurt to ask. He was still a little surprised and disappointed that with all the geniuses in their group, they hadn't yet come very far on unraveling the mysteries behind the aliens who were using them as glorified lab rats.
