Morpheus grinned. It really made him happy that his name rang bells. Big fucking church bells it seemed like for most people.
"Yeah, I am. Not the one from the Matrix though. That's a different thing. And not the one in the books with the girl who really digs fish."
He winked at her.
"Well, two things," he said, walking closer to Eleni. "One, I'm not really a person in the strictest sense of the word. And two, y'know, you guys seem to really have a lot of confidence in the word 'god' when it pertains to me. They chose very wisely. I can't do much to stop them. It's my family that could really raise hell. Literally and figuratively. All it means for the assholes that took us is that I can't really be killed."
He shrugged. "I've got talents. But there are more useful ones to have. Being charming and imaginative means precious little in certain situations."
He looked the girl over, and she looked pretty normal. Human. But hey, so did everybody, right?
