Mary's feet hit the ground and her legs carried her across the room before she could give it a second thought. Whether she was responding out if gratitude or because the dam in her felt like it was about to burst once she acknowledged that what had happened to her was that bad... well, the motivation didn't matter.
She climbed into the bed and buried her face into his shoulder. Maybe talking was what he'd thought was best, but for now she couldn't get her voice to work. Instead, she released the tears that she'd been holding back since the abduction. She just let it all go and trusted that Johnny would hold onto her while she was in this freefall.
