Evan stepped back a little, the obvious and well-deserved question deflating him a little bit. Of course this guy wasn't going to recognize him. He'd not even been human when they'd had their fight.

There was something about the guy that the wolf hadn't picked upon, and it was the fact that he didn't seem to be threatening anybody here. The fact that he'd said he didn't want to hurt anyone came back to Evan now and it rang true to him. The idea that the wolf had mistaken an attempt to protect those in the camp from somebody who was also trying to protect them was a little embarrassing.
