Jack gave a slight shrug at the refusal; she had to make sure. Instead of offering again, she popped a slice in her mouth and chewed thoughtfully, trying not to be too loud. The apple was just the right blend of crisp and pop; she'd had all sorts of foods while traveling the US, and apples were something of a commonality, whether grown locally or not. She could usually find an apple cheap.
"Properly medicated? Doctor?" She used the knife to point at him, a sliver of apple waited on the flat of the blade. She wasn't offering it, so much as letting the knife be an extension of herself. She quickly popped the sliver of apple in her mouth and chewed again.
"Brain, right? Makes it mush or some such?" She'd swallowed before speaking, not one to speak with a mouthful after all. "That's got to be a real bitch. Well, hate to tell you if he's not finding his way to sanity soon, he won't find it when they start popping us in and out of realities. It could be tough on the staunchest sorts."
