Cas tilted his head to the side, confused. "What makes you say that?"
He knew what it was to be abandoned or simply ignored by his father. Beyond that, he couldn't say he knew anything about what a parent should and should not have done. Of course, he was of the belief that love of a parent should also be unconditional. That...that was not something he'd ever experienced, so it lessened his understanding even further.
"I've met other gods," he admitted. "Granted, not you. You...are associated with dreams. Yes?"
It was an attempt at conversation. People were always telling him to engage in it more. He wasn't sure that was such a good idea, since it often ended with inadvertent insult of the party he was simply trying to understand.
