It was impossible to miss the smile on his face, and she rolled her eyes at him as they walked. It was easier, now, to be in this very alien place -- easier, because she wasn't so terribly alone as she'd thought.
"No, I have a room, apparently, too. My clothes are there. Some of the things that I've kept with me through the centuries... some old carvings from Nina-by-the-sea, my old shrine. I hadn't actually paid much attention to those things in a long time, though I've always had them around with me."
She stopped when he did.
"But someone would have had to have selected all the things in my room with care. It's as if they wanted me to feel at home."
She wondered if she could still do all the things she as a goddess should. Nothing felt out of place, and she didn't feel less like herself at all. She could methodically test all her powers, but that would be a tedious waste of time. She'd rather find out what they were dealing with in other ways.
