Piotr smiled at Rayne as big as he could without being rude. His mouth was full of steak, so he didn't speak, just nodded and stood up to move the chair out so she could sit.
She looked much the way that she had on the first night that they'd met. Like a woman of nobility out with the commoners. Her dress was like nothing he'd ever seen, though it should have seemed out of place in this setting, made her appear as if this was her ship. These were her people.
When he finally finished his bite and she was sitting, Piotr returned to his chair.
"It is nice to see you again, Rayne. You look well." He gestured to the room and the window that showed space. "I think you will not have to worry about the sun here."
He was in good spirits. The food, the not being in a place where he was threatened by random beasts, not stuck on an island, not seeing in monotone, all of it was contributing. And now he was sitting with a friend.
