"Inside is good, too." Johnny pulled her further into the room and turned to hit the button that made the door close. He resisted hitting it a few more times, just because it was kind of cool and made him think of science fiction movies.
"I feel like none of that even happened." Johnny knew that she wasn't talking about what Jo had done. That was too recent. And it wasn't a giant, life changing event. "It's a little scary, actually. Nothing hurts anymore, I've just got a scar. The scar still looks pretty angry, but it's the only evidence that I've got left over."
He unbuttoned the top few buttons on his shirt and pulled it aside so that Mary could see what he was talking about. His vest made it a little difficult to expose the whole thing, though he thought she'd get the gist of it from just the edge.
"I'm not even tired. Seriously, it's like any other day." It probably wasn't good to be creeped out by himself, Johnny thought.
