Mary stopped when Johnny did. She let him step back enough to ask his question. A little flash of hurt crossed her face and she crossed her arms and looked up at him. She hadn't exactly gone into things with this version of Johnny blind. She'd landed in the past and found out everything and it hadn't changed how she felt. Perhaps it should have, but it didn't matter as much as she might have thought.
"You're not getting rid of me that easily," she half-teased. Though any hint of a smile dropped as a little bit of insecurity kicked in. "What about you? Like you said, you'll have to deal with my parents now. And Rob. And a lot's happened since that kiss and maybe I've changed a bit. I'm not sure yet. I might be a little broken right now. I wouldn't blame you if you wanted to keep things platonic until we can get the thing with my parents figured out and until I'm a little more..." she didn't even know where she was going with that really.
She shrugged helplessly. There were moments when she thought she was fine and moments when she thought that she was never going to feel safe again.
