"Been here from the start." Cavan said. "This is our third planet. Longest we've been set anywhere. And no, no it is not a normal life for me. It's not great and I'd like a way out. But it doesn't seem like that's going to happen any time soon. They scooped us up and dumped us so that they could see what we would do. We're supposed to survive and thrive or some shit."
He sighed, eyes rolling in annoyance. "But at least I get to see strange new lands, I guess. Meet interesting people. Not sure if it makes up for being stolen from my life."
Cavan wasn't looking in the store window anymore. There was no point. But he'd also stopped really looking at the woman in front of him, since she wasn't going to be a toy. He looked around them, making sure that nobody was hearing what they were saying, and nobody was stopping to hear more. He didn't really want to be the one to cause any kind of panic anywhere.
"And about that, being stolen, so far we haven't been awake when they take us, so they either do it while we're already asleep, or have a way of putting us to sleep, and then keeping us in that state until we're where they want us to be. Then we wake up in strange places. It's not great."
