"I'm sure you'll be memorable." Johnny nodded. "But they might talk more about me and my beating of women, so maybe you're safe."
He got them walking, if only to get them further away from the doorway they'd just exited. He didn't want anybody to overhear, in case they were friends of the girls inside there and any of those girls were friends with the ones on the list that he held.
"There is at least one name on this list that matches the one that has been in the paper. So one of those girls, if not more, have fallen victim to the serial killer. There's only one name here that we didn't see in that house when we asked for a romp. But that name, that one has an address with it." Johnny was still holding the paper for Max to take. "I think it was the place she was sent on a job. It doesn't seem like many clients get to have delivery service. This one paid up before they got the goodies."
He felt a little bad for putting it that way. "It was a few days ago, but she's still on the books. Maybe the madam is still hoping she'll come back around, and maybe she will. Maybe there's just extra fun time going on. Or maybe she's with the killer. And maybe still alive. Maybe. But even if she isn't, and I hate to sound so callous, but maybe we find Mary if we go look here."
