"Maybe." Max looked over at Johnny. "I know that there are a couple girls missing from in there. Sure, they might have gone home or somewhere else, but these girls didn't have anything to go home to, anywhere to go."
The p.i. shoved his hands in his coat pockets to look over the vigilante and the kid who had no connection. He was beginning to believe the kid had more connection than Johnny was saying. Asking the kid right out seemed like a bad idea for the moment.
"Seems we've got a few girls they haven't accounted for, but then why would they? They're just hookers, right?" His voice was gruff with more than a hint of anger. He didn't like anyone being forgotten or lost, no matter what their station in life was.
