"I have to at least look." Johnny said quietly. He accepted the files and downed the drink, then set the glass aside so that he could flip through while he talked. Even if there wasn't anything usable here, he could at least say he'd tried. That was what mattered. He was hoping, though, that there was something.
"We work in the same bar. She's a friend of mine, actually. We were going under the lie that we were married, and we were staying in the same apartment. She went off for a walk, and never came back. Missed her shift."
He looked up at Max. "So time to look for her."
Johnny gazed back at the file and flipped through the scant pages within. He supposed he'd hoped there had been a lot more found, but he hadn't really expected it. Forensics in this day and age weren't what they would become, and there wouldn't be much to go off of. He did find one thing though, the list of addresses with two crossed off. He showed this to Max.
