Johnny pulled the bag closer and reached in, pulling out one and hoping that it wasn't a special item created for the PI specifically. Though he supposed that if there was a specific sandwich, he would have been pointed to it.
"God, yes please." Johnny said to the offer of the drink before addressing the other question. It was much easier. He even took a bite of the sandwich before even starting the story.
"I'm helping now because one of ours is missing, and I'm afraid that it might have to do with what's in the papers. I figure it's best to hit that route first, than risk her getting seriously hurt because we tried other avenues first."
Johnny didn't want to think about what might be happening to Mary right now if she was in the serial killer's hands. Right at this minute. What tortures she might be enduring.
"I'm hoping with the files I'll see something that the other guy missed. Maybe a lead he was going to follow up right before..." He didn't say it. He was guessing that Max had worked with the guy, and that's why he was here. Wasn't fun to talk about dead friends.
"I figured you'd be pretty comfortable in a place like this. You always had the style to. The mindset for it. You don't even look remotely out of place in black and white."
