She watched as Johnny explained a bit of what was eating at him. She was a little surprised that suddenly he was in a talking mood, but she wasn't going to argue.
“What else?” she asked, her voice soft but with an edge of demanding. He’d brought it up and she wasn’t going to let him just slink away without telling her what was going on. “I haven’t missed that you’ve been quiet ever since we went out to dinner and that movie.”
She didn’t name the movie. There were a lot of memories associated with that movie and Johnny, most of them good, and she was trying to hang on to those.
She wasn't going to push him to talk, but she hated being kept in the dark. If he was upset with her or if he wanted her out of his life, she'd rather he just said it already. It was better than simply imagining the worst.
