Mary drained the rest of her glass and then set it down on the coffee table and rested back in the chair.
"I've never known how to live a peaceful life," she said. "It's just... I know that one or two planets from now, I'll probably long for a break like this, but I'm going stir-crazy."
She fell silent for a minute, feeling a little guilty that she was glad she wasn't the only one going nuts.
"The bar's closed on Sundays. Maybe we should take the extra money we have and catch a movie. Might take our minds off things for a bit."
It wasn't a date, even though it did sound like one. She simply wanted that time in a dark theater where they could both get carried away by a story that would be wrapped up in about two hours. Time where they maybe weren't thinking about anything else for a bit.
