"I don't think I need a fifty dollar suit." Johnny shook his head. "Not working where we work. And given that I don't really know that there's a need for our other work, I'm doubting that I'll be doing much in the way of dressing up."
It felt strange to him, to leave the small apartment in anything outside of his Outlaw getup. He'd been doing it for so long, with no variation in his style, that the simple suit that he sported now made him feel itchy. Not actually itchy. Just like there were little things crawling around in his brain.
He'd yet to replace the hat, not being satisfied with anything that he'd seen yet. But the engineer boots had been found. Thankfully not many people looked at the feet of their bartender. It would have been strange for him to be wearing them, since in this time only engineers wore them. He just couldn't take the silly Oxfords he'd been in upon their arrival.
"Besides, you should get something you want. Isn't that what the women do in this era? Buy themselves something pretty?" He was teasing, but that didn't mean he wasn't serious about it, too.
