Mary debated silently how to answer the questions about the group that was here. She hadn't confirmed or denied if it was more than herself and Johnny, but he seemed convinced that there was more. Would it be harmful to answer and confirm that? Was it really something that could be hidden for long?
"We don't know how we're transferred. We usually just wake up in the new place. And if I'd found an escape, believe me when I say that I'd be in technicolor right now. But there's always a way out. There has to be, and we'll find it."
Mary was very firmly on 'Team Free Will' and simply lying back and accepting that they were at the mercy of overly powerful alien beings went against everything that she was.
"It's not my group," she corrected. "I don't know all of them, but I think it's safe to say that at least most aren't normal." She shrugged. "I mean, I'm human, but that doesn't mean my life's been ordinary."
Perhaps she was veering into sharing more than she was comfortable with, but sometimes you had to put yourself out there to get information.
"What about you? I take it that you're not a typical human either?"
After all, the way he'd phrased the question would indicate as much. Not to mention that he was taking this much better than someone who had never encountered something out of the ordinary in their lives.
