Mary's head was still reeling with the idea that just two days ago, she'd been on a different planet entirely. Now, here she was playing the part of a cocktail waitress and newly married wife. Not to mention just playing along with all of the old fashioned bull shit notions about a woman's place and all that. Johnny, of course, was taking great joy in opening every single door for her. It was almost cute. Almost.
The first night of work was a bit of a blur. The customer who had just walked in had Mary's attention. He was a pretty man, she had to admit that much. There was also something about him. She couldn't put her finger on it, but there was a sort of magnetic charisma about the way the guy smiled at people passing by.
She grabbed her notepad and pen and approached the table.
