Mary considered her options. She really did want to go with him, if only to make sure that he came back. This place seemed safe, but she'd just found him again and she didn't trust this planet, nor did she trust that they wouldn't shift again while he was out.
On the other hand, she thought she could see a tub through the open door in the bathroom and the idea of washing up sounded extremely appealing. With Johnny out, she could linger more without worrying about tying up the bathroom.
Living together was certainly going to be a new experience.
She didn't argue about the sleeping arrangements any further, simply because she thought that he was being ridiculous. She did spare a smile for the hideous decorations.
"Be it ever so humble..."
She didn't finish the sentence. She didn't need to, she thought. It was weird even pretending to make a home here. Weird playing the part of newlyweds.
The whole situation had her off-balance, but that was par for the course at this point.
She finally shook her head in response to Johnny's last question.
"I think I'll stay here and clean up. We're going to have to buy clothes tomorrow with any tips we make tonight. A few more days in these outfits and they might just grow legs of their own."
