Harry looked from Johnny to Mary and then smiled. He could understand what it meant to get married and the feelings that came with it. They looked like decent kids, and seemed nice.
"Well, I just got married myself. Actually, I used to live in the apartment under the bar. My wife refuses to live down there though. If you need a place to stay, you can have that. I'll give you a little extra responsibility for the rent, you guys pay utilities. Let me know. I need a new waitress and a new bartender, as it happens. Think you guys would fit the roles nicely. I actually need two bartenders, but I can't have a gal behind there. It's just not right. I'm sure you understand. What do you say?"
Johnny hadn't really expected it to be that easy. He looked back at Mary and raised an eyebrow.
"Does it happen to be furnished? We kind of have nothing." He waited to hear that it wasn't, and that they'd be sleeping on a pile of blankets or something.
"You fuckin kidding me? Of course it's furnished. My Sarah threatened to set all my shit on fire if I tried to bring it to the new place. It's all just furniture, mind. No sheets or anything. Just threw those out. You're welcome to it all, I didn't have the heart to dump any of it."
Johnny smiled a little. "What do you think, Mare?"
