"You're pretty either way," Mary said with a teasing smile.
It wasn't like it was a secret that she'd seen a version of him waking up after a night's sleep in a bed. Mary took the offered sandwich, grateful for the sustenance. She didn't even care that it was the same as last night. Maybe she'd care in a day or two, but for now it was just fine. Besides, it sure beat going hungry.
"I suppose we'll find out," she said. "We might want to try walking around too because I think they might have had 'help wanted' signs in windows back then."
It was a little disturbing to her that she'd already gotten past the shock of seeing everything in black and white. It was almost starting to feel normal. Which was weird.
"So, you didn't see anything out of the ordinary last night, did you?"
That didn't sit right with her either. Perhaps, it should have. But after a planet where you couldn't safely go outside after dark without worrying about zombie and vampire creatures? She had a hard time adjusting to the idea that they'd been able to sleep out in the open without even a hint of a creature trying to eat their faces off.
