"Just the ones that sleep soundly." He smiled back.
Johnny let her fix his hair, and then did his best to straighten his own clothes. The suit showed the wrinkles much better than he would have liked them to. Nothing really to be done about that.
"Not fresh out of bed." He reminded her. "Fresh off of bench. I'm far prettier when I wake up from a pillow."
He got the knife back out and started making breakfast sandwiches. The first one he handed over to Mary.
"I bet there's a news stand nearby. Seems like it would make sense to put one near a park. We probably have enough for a paper." He paused. "They did do classifieds in the 40s, right?"
