Mary gave Johnny an exasperated 'what am I going to do with you?' look as she took a bite of her own sandwich. Though she did have to give him credit for at least admitting to the intention of taking first watch and 'forgetting' to wake her up. She chewed slowly as she considered her response and their options.
"Or you could just agree-no, promise- to not go all chivalrous on me and we've got no problem. We both need our sleep. And don't start on the fact that you might not. Maybe you do, maybe you don't, but I don't want to find that out when we're in a new planet and we still don't know what's what."
As the youngest in a family of overprotective hunters, Mary was more than used to using logic to argue against the idea that she was some sort of china doll to be protected. Not to mention that she'd had more than her experience in arguing her case against Johnny's sense of chivalry.
