Johnny grinned at the revealed gun. He was not only glad to see that Mary had something that would help her defend herself, but he had to admit he was a little happy seeing that bit of flesh. Which was a weird thing, kind of. Just like how jealous he'd gotten about Evan had been weird.
He decided to say nothing on the matter.
Instead, he patted himself down, checking for items he didn't know he had. The guns had been easy since they were heavy and obvious. He hadn't really looked for anything else. Johnny paused when his hand brushed the small of his back. Laying sideways along the belt was something they could use. Even if it was a little absurd. With a boyish grin, he pulled the knife out and held it up for her. It wasn't quite as big as a buck knife, but it was still a good deal bigger than a butter knife. Sharper, too.
"They never asked for that kind of shit back then. Back... now..." He shook his head. "The driver's licenses don't even have pictures on them. It'd be easy enough to swipe one and say it's us. But I really don't think we even have to worry about it. And there's other things you could do besides factory work. Waitressing?"
