The cheek about not expecting barefoot pregnant cooking simply for lack of a kitchen earned Johnny another glare.
"Don't hold your breath even if we do find a kitchen," she joked back.
Her stomach gave yet another growl as the thoughts of a kitchen brought up thoughts of food again. Mary held out the penny stand-in to Johnny and accepted the Orson Welles nickel.
"Ava Gardner. So I have to give them credit, already their coins have more women than actual 1940s America currency."
Mary moved over to the bike and tilted her head toward it, waiting for Johnny to decide it was time to move this conversation to the park. Moving to the park meant finding somewhere to eat and starting to scout for the safest place to sleep.
