"I can't even tell if it's a real coin, or just a joke." He kept the coin in his palm, and smiled at her admission. "If that's the case, you should probably keep it. I have no emotional ties to the guy myself."
He wasn't happy that the best they could do was sleeping outside. But it wouldn't be his first time, and he doubted that Mary had had shelter every single day of her life. So despite his displeasure, he knew that they could both handle it.
"I don't have any cash on me outside of this thing. I think if we're going to eat, we're going to have to steal it. The upside to that is, security cameras don't seem to exist here. And I noticed a few back doors to places propped open, so I think we could just slip in, nab some crap, and be out before anybody even saw."
If he was honest, Johnny was a little excited by the prospect. It was like a game. Except not a game.
