Annabelle was watching, listening. She'd made a mental note to speak to the vampire woman, to see if she was anything like the vampires she knew about.
Like Mona.
Because if she was, Annabelle would help nourish her.
She realized how insane that was, and was mentally chiding herself for being, in fact, unhinged, when the thing showed up and started talking.
Annabelle was startled. Very startled. Her eyes grew wider, and before she could reign it in, a wave of her power washed over her. She felt it start at her temple, and run down her neck, into her body, into her fingers, into her feet, and out the tips of her fingers and toes.
It was an inaudible pulse of energy. And as soon as she let it go, Annabelle took a step back, afraid she'd hurt some of the people standing here. She could have; she just didn't know.
