Purposefully, Simon had waited. He had known about the gathering well enough before hand to be on time, or even early. But that just wasn't the way that he worked. He had held back, enjoying the setting sun, loving the feeling of fall and spring intermingled unnaturally. He had watched the citizens of this world scurry back into their homes.
He had watched Niks and Evan approach the house with a delightful creature. They had, of course, followed some other faces that he knew well and was intrigued by, but they, they were the two that he was focused the most on.
When the noises from inside the house fell quiet and Simon could only hear one voice talking, he approached.
The fairy walked in the front door without knocking and crossed right in front of the man who was in the center of the room. He didn't offer a sheepish look or a single word of apology. He didn't even spare a glance at the rather large fellow. He went right to where Mikey was, picking up the feline boy and propping his own rear right on the spot the cat had been sitting.
"You may continue." Simon said in a posh voice with a tone that said this was the most obvious statement in the world.
He knew much about the world and what had happened to everybody, but he didn't think he was going to share any of it.
