The Doctor supposed wizards might be difficult. It must be hard to be so almost human. He could relate.
"What's a Phae?"
This was not a name he'd heard before in relation to York. He could not place it. Dawn hadn't mentioned that name, neither had Faith.
But then he followed Harry's train of thought. The Wizard was right. There was no reason for something that had been set in place to simply stop being in place with the passage of time. Not unless it was something that would erode, or rot, or wear down. It did not sound like Harry's spell was a thing that would do that.
What would cause the TARDIS to malfunction AND ruin the wizard's wards?
"How many people are you talking about? We can find out what happened in a year easily. The part about people is more specific. And wouldn't they seek you out? Or answer phones?"
He grinned. "PHONES!"
The Doctor took a telephone out of his pocket and dialed Rose Tyler.
